The Fleet's In

There was a real Auld Alliance feel to Ocean Terminal today, with a sculpture by a French artist on display, and lots of French-speaking guys with very short haircuts. Which isn't surprising, as there's a whole bunch of French navy ships in the dock.

Funnily enough though, in the same way you never hear Athens calling itself the Edinburgh of the South, you don't hear the French talking about the Auld Alliance too often. Or do you?
