Going Global

An interesting fact gleaned from looking at my globe today; if I set off from the nearest coast about five miles from here and travelled north, the first land I would cross would be about 300 miles of the remotest eastern end of Siberia, and the next land (barring the possibility of the occasional Pacific island) would be Antarctica.  No wonder it can be so perishing cold when there’s a north wind blowing in winter.

Rather a good (if tense at times) rugby match this afternoon.
