More Kendal Mountain Festival

Son R has come to stay and opted for more active participation in the Festival than we were planning. He was hoping for 3rd place in the 10km Trail Race and here is hot on the heels of the guy in 3rd place,  coming back in Kendal town. Between here and the finish are some very steep slippery cobbled alleys some with steps which, the guy he was following,  flew down at a suicidal pace.  R could not overtake and had to make do with 4th. He was disappointed, 4th gets no prize. We  of course, as proud parents, thought he did very well , he's not local and didn't know the route.
