Let it burn
Big tidy up day in the garden. I cut the dogwoods down a few days ago (see previous blips ..... they should be cut back every year to show the new stems at their best in winter), and took perhaps, 100 cuttings (see the rear of this photograph).
I'll keep 20 or so and sell the rest. That still left a lot of twisted old wood. Some of it was shredded to make mulch, but most of it simply clogged up the shredder.
Plan B.
Burn it.
The ashes are good for the rose beds and I'll also spread lots of it on one of my raised beds to kill off all the weed seeds, prior to planting out asparagus (which should arrive in the post very shortly).
Satisfied.
