Why are the stairs so appealing?

Last night went much better than expected as both dogs slept all night in the kitchen on their own beds. They didn’t cry this morning but we’re waiting for me at the door when I went downstairs about 8.

Henry seems to enjoy lying on the stairs and this evening Phin has joined him, but on the top landing.

The dogs have played well again today when they weren’t sleeping! I’ve mostly lounged around and carried on with my crochet scarf. i ended up ripping it out as I misread the pattern and decided it wasn’t working (even though it was) - must have been a brain fart moment - so I’m not as far on as I was. I’ll get there.
