Sky on fire

I wandered down to the beach this evening hoping to get some bird photos. I got some nice shots of Sanderling - running around as they do, like clockwork toys, in and out of the surf as the tide was coming in.

As the sun was going down the sky looked pretty amazing, reminding me of fire and with lots of "rays" coming from behind the clouds - the rays are something i always want to capture in a photo when i see them but have never yet suceeded! Anyway i liked this image better than the Sanderling ones - it's virtually as it came out of the camera, i toned down the highlights a wee bit and tweaked the colour very slightly.
