Green shoots

After I tidied up the miserable String of Hearts yesterday, I finally got round to checking on the dormant Amaryllis (or Hippeastrum?). Lo and behold a green shoot was lurking under the dried old growth! It's now looking a lot happier after a trim, soak and repot in fresh compost. If we're lucky it might be in flower at Christmas.

Around the bulb is a collection of blue and white pottery shards found in the gardens of my various homes.

Very tired as H woke up, and woke us up, several times in the night. No obvious cause...
