Hard Graft

It was a bit slippy underfoot this morning so I was surprised to see 6 workmen marching up the hill with tubular steel and timber on their shoulders. I said 'alright?' To the first guy. He said 'nope, I'm climbing up a f*cking hill with a steel pole!'. I asked the last guy how it was going and his answer was shorter, a one word expletive, said with a grin. I asked what they were building. They are propping up the roof on the concrete lookout. Bit of a relief that as the original steelwork is almost completely corroded. Hopefully this means people can continue to look inside. Anyway, I lied and told him he was nearly at the top and it will a be over soon. He said 'not quite, we have three more trips'. I wished him good luck. Four trips up the law carrying marerial in work gear when it is slippy underfoot is asking alot. Hopefully they get a bonus.
