Morning moon

We lost power late yesterday afternoon and the outage lasted well into the evening. I had my blips ready to post, but Krista sent her paper on Wisdom and asked me to look it over. I was about half way through it when suddenly - no power. Posting yesterday's blip at 5:20 am Tuesday.
When we left home to go to Vancouver Island for our boosters, it was pouring rain. By the time we got up to the ferry terminal, it had cleared up enough to see the moon. Very chilly, so this is another photo taken from the warmth of the car.
Booster jags went well. The clinic was busy, walk ins and those with appointments, some there for second jags, some for boosters. No after effects for either of us. No lineups at all at any gas station we passed but when we went into Walmart for bird seed, we noticed plenty of shelves with very little on them and not much fresh produce. No apples, no lettuce. The cashier said that getting the shelves restocked was a problem because of all the road closures. We rarely go to Walmart, and one of the things we noticed immediately was the lack of cashiers - only two with the majority of customers using the self-checkouts. I guess the self-checkout machines don't need a decent salary or benefits. Disturbing how many people are being replaced by machines.
We'd planned to stop for a few groceries at a local store on our way home and there was plenty of produce. Good that both grocery stores on our island support local growers. There were signs at both gas stations that there was no gas though. I think a delivery truck was due later in the evening.
Lucky we had bought a takeaway pizza for dinner, so we put it on a pizza pan and set it on top of the wood stove. Worked well to crisp up the crust. We were almost finished eating when Renata called with great news - Kalyn and team made the playoffs!  I had a feeling they would! The 8 teams were announced yesterday afternoon. Looking forward to talking with Kalyn and hearing the excitement in her voice. Renata said that the team was together watching the announcement. I can just imagine their reaction!  :-))
