Tuesday haircut ......
A dry start,so managed to get the spring calving cows and calves in to the steading when I fed them.
Put the cows in one shed, clipped the calve's backs, gave them their second pneumonia vaccine and a dose of pour on wormer. Then took them round to the slatted shed where they will spend the winter. It will be a noisy few days until the cows and calves get used to being separated.
The drainers back again today sorting more burst drains. When I went to see them they had decided to lay about 100m of pipe from a wet bit of the field down to the burn. When you think in days gone by all that would have been done with a squad of men with spades and hundreds of clay tiles. Now it's 2 men,a 360 digger and coils of plastic pipe.
Wee brother using my landrover and trailer to haul some of the blackface ewe lambs down the road to their winter grazing. Doesn't seem that long since I was hauling last year's ones back home in May.
