Vancouver beach scene
Everyone is out enjoying the warm spring weather. A chap told us it is the best Easter weekend he's known in Vancouver in 30 years. I adore Vancouver and am really pleased to be back, especially t this time of year.
One of the great things about the setting is the way forest, mountain, ocean and city blend together so well. Here there is English Bay on the left, where huge supertankers lie up every day, sheltered from the Pacific by Vancouver Island. In front and to the right is the downtown area. Through the gap between the tower you can see the mountains of North Vancouver, separated from Vancouver by another bit of ocean - the Burrard Inlet. And to the left, off the picture, tall conifers mark the start of Stanley Park, a short walk/bike ride away from the waterfront.
