Village Visit …

….. ….. ….. to the Blair Gardens in Arrowtown today.
A group of 12 of us visited Janet & John Blair in their amazing park-like gardens near Arrowtown this morning. About 9 acres altogether, with huge old trees, spacious lawns, wide gardens and imaginative and intriguing vistas opening up to surprise you, everything has been planted by Janet herself over many years, assisted by John. It’s an incredible testament to her love of nature and gardening, and dedication.

My husband and I used to be neighbours of Janet & John, many years ago, so I’ve been able to see the huge difference that’s been made to the gardens since then.

Only one area wasn’t as well cared for. She said that the rabbits have got the better of her and she’s given up. Who would blame her! They’re wreaking havoc all over the Wakatipu Basin.

We all went out for lunch afterwards at a nearby café which was another enjoyable treat.
