Power outage!

Well that was an interesting day! (writing this on the 24th)!

Started off with very high winds, lots of rain and warnings of power outages around the province!.   It was also Terry's birthday.   As usual we got some preparations in motion...one of which is to fill up a container with water, you just never know how long it will last!   Terry filled this plastic bladder like thing, holding 5 gallons of water and put it on the counter!   It was kinda in my way, so i moved it to another part of the kitchen, onto a small table!   I guess i didn't make absolutely sure it was secure....a few hours later a large noise got Terry downstairs!   the container had fallen onto the floor and burst!!!!  Yes, 5 gallons of water all over the kitchen and living room floors!   Boy did we move into action quickly!   Lots of towels, mops etc were used, it actually only took us about 1/2 hour to clean the lot up....those floors were due for a wash anyway :)

Then around 5.30 pm we lost power.  But with a lovely woodstove and a bbq we were very cosy!   Here you see us settling in for our wine and cheese pre dinner chat, in front of the fire!  Had fun playing with my phone camera .... not the best image in terms of quality, but it has all the qualities that show us having a fine time!

A few places were flooded and there are still folks without power, ours came on around 11 pm..... not so bad.   I went to bed around 10sh with my headlamp an my book!

Indeed an exciting day for Terry's birthday!
