Diary of an Edinburgher

Something missing…

Hazel came over for a coffee and a catch up of her holiday plans. Then we took a walk down town, it was such a nice day again. Had a wee look down on the Grassmarket first, then walked down the Royal Mile. We popped in to a restaurant that Hazel highly recommends and booked lunch for a few week’s hence.

We had a wander round, checked out the new BrewDog Hotel in the old school (which isn’t open yet) and came round by Cockburn Street. Yes! There was a spare seat outside at the Milkman! Coffee and carrot cake revived me, and Archie sat up on the bench beside us. One woman asked to take a photo of him sitting looking politely at the cake, though - ever the professional - he looked at the camera while she took the photo.

From there I walked up to the bus home, but the others went the long way home, via the Grassmarket, The Meadows, the Links and Bruntsfield.

Archie and I have a Big Day tomorrow. He goes for his wee operation and teeth cleaning, and I go for my ECG. So it’s an early start for us all. JR will walk him to the vet’s and not go to the gym.

Down the Royal Mile, at the World’s End Pub, I spotted this sign (Extra) that I haven’t noticed before. Something missing from that map!!

Reminded me of this…. (Press Play!)
