Mission.

A big partner and donor mission in and around Chimanimani started today. There is a complex set of programmes, budgets and initiatives in this landscape, which brings great potential, but only if coordinated well. Carloads of people arrived late morning, most of whom I haven’t seen face to face for a long time. As this is the first time I’ve been able to visit the landscape since pre-Covid, I feel quite keenly conscious of the expectations that have been on us and on which we haven’t yet been able to deliver fully. It feels like it’ll be an anxious few days, albeit in a stunning and rugged location.

In discussion we all agreed how Covid challenges have affected our work in what is necessarily a very face to face sector. ‘We have nice work travel though’, said Sean, whose wife goes to look at sewage and waste management plants in provincial capitals.
