Finished at Last

This jigsaw has been a real challenge due to the number of pieces in a similar colour and a lot of similar shapes in the flowers. So I think it took about 3 weeks. Now I can start xmas jigsaws :) I had a doctors telephone appointment first thing, it was an hour late, I assume a typo in the message I was sent. He sounded very disinterested for the first call of the day! Lots of little jobs done today given it was very wet and very cold.

The UK has now had officially 10m Covid cases since the start of the pandemic, in reality it’s more, not least due to the lack of testing at the start. Today there were 47,240 new cases. Cases are highest in kids aged 5-9 and the region with the highest cases is the South East. Slovakia has gone into a two week lockdown as it has the world’s highest infection rate. The Govt of the Czech Republic has declared a State of Emergency for 30 days due to the rise in cases. France is to offer a Covid booster to all adults over 18 and if refused, their health pass will become inactive. France is also making face masks compulsory again in many places and access to Christmas markets will require a health pass. The EU Commission President says ‘ a quarter of EU adults are still not fully vaccinated’. A new variant has been identified in Botswana with an ‘unusual constellation of mutations’, it is being monitored (it has 32 spike protein mutations).
