Looking Down into the Sky

This remarkable sight greeted us as we arrived down at our small local lake.
The open water is nearly always there because the stream enters the lake here, and the slight current keeps the ice at bay on all but the coldest days. But somehow it is much more spectacular than usual. Perhaps the thin layer of snow covering the fragile ice gives a good contrast to the mirror/water. Perhaps the blue sky with clouds is a more interesting reflection than usual. Whatever, it is as it is.
