Project 365 day 329: Texture

I've been looking at the pattern and texture in this for a while, when I walk past it beside the door to the garden, so this Abstract Thursday brings its moment in the sun. It's the detached crown of P's old straw hat, which he wears to shade his eyes when gardening. He continued to wear it crownless through the late summer, as we have not been hat shopping for a very long time, and hats are the kind of thing you really need to try on. He said it still shaded his eyes. 

I walked up the hill again, in beautiful low sun which shone through leaves of all colours and huge, feathery tangles of old man's beard (extra).
