Steiner Street

For my walk today, I decided to trek to Steiner and Post Streets to take a photograph of some condos. Not that the condos are anything special (I suppose that SOMEbody thinks they are), but because forty-five years ago today, one of the greatest concerts in rock history took place where the condos sit today, at what was once the Winterland Ballroom. Dubbed "The Last Waltz," The Band billed it as their "farewell concert appearance," and it featured guest performances by people the group had associated with over the years: Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Van Morrison, Dr. John, Ringo Starr, Muddy Waters, Eric Clapton, Ronnie Hawkins, and others.

Forty-five years ago... crazy.
