From the Cribbage Table

What a busy Easter Sunday! It's been a fun filled day, including a surprise visit from my sister, her husband and two dogs. I suspect they'd heard I'd baked a Simnel cake! It was such a lovely day, warm and sunny, that we sat outside with our coffee and cake and watched the three dogs, Ollie, Tessa and Mac, playing in the garden. Ollie is more than twice the size of either of them so it was fun seeing them tackling each other - luckily he is a gentle giant!

We spent the evening with friends, learning to play cribbage. I could easily become addicted and am looking forward to the next game - although I did lose by a sizeable margin! It was a super evening, lots of fun, with a wonderful selection of food and lots of tasty nibbles, Christmas crackers, Easter eggs and lots of laughter.

This is the view from their sitting room, overlooking the hills of Hoy, with the lights of Flotta and the oil terminal in the foreground and the crow step gable end of their shed. A lovely end to a great day.
