Under the canopy

After a busy day with visitors, a brief lull in proceedings seemed a great time to head out blip-gathering. And what do you know, the heavens opened right as I set foot out the gate. Typical.

Undeterred, I headed to the place I know always presents some opportunities when the weather's not so flash, the Kaituna Scenic Reserve just down the road.

Getting low to the ground (yep, I was in the leaf litter framing this) I aimed the tripod to the canopy to shoot this view of majestic kahikatea piercing the titoki canopy.
