A completely empty subway car

I was on my way to the office, around 8:00 a.m. on Black Friday. The stores weren’t open yet, and most people have a four-day weekend. So I had an entire subway car to myself! I have never seen this happen before in New York, even at midnight. Especially at midnight.

And when I got here, I appeared to be the only person in the entire 17-floor building, except for one guard downstairs near the front entrance. Yippee! My favorite working conditions.
