Cyril the Squirrel called in this morning, briefly dropping down from the peanut feeder to press his nose to the kitchen window, thumbing it, metaphorically, (his nose, I mean) at Percy who was pressing his to the glass on the other side, and ignoring me waving a camera at him.
Cyril is persistent too, he spent ages gnawing at nuts through the mesh. He failed in his original plan to dislodge the feeder so it would fall to the ground and the top come off and spill the nuts. He's done that many a time .... but no luck today.
I expect he'll be back soon, given that the weather has suddenly turned wintery. We have a red warning for high winds tonight. So far, things are quiet, after a few snow flurries this afternoon.
This after a beautiful morning. We went to Melrose, as TM said this would be the last of the dry days. It certainly was lovely there. We met a couple of ladies, one visiting from Bournemouth. She's travelling back tonight, by coach, via London. I closed my ears when she said how many hours ... I hope she's ok. Her friend has recently moved up here from the South of England. I may have found a yoga teacher - once she finds a place to start up classes!
