St Giles Cathedral

A wonderful building ….. a place of real peace and sense of worship.

There are many beautiful stained glass windows and the ceiling very impressive. It was very difficult to take a photo of the sun shining through the stained glass because the window was behind the organ but a bit of neck craning and arm stretching and it was just possible.

We were supposed to be at the Festival of Lights at Edinburgh Castle tonight but sadly, owing to the inclement weather, the show was cancelled.

We didn’t want to come home without doing something so we popped into the National Museum and the Cathedral before heading home in the train.
