and the threatened rain held off, at least for a while... south to watch the taiwanese open surfing championships for an hour and then a walk back up to the room... shaved ice by the highwayside, a beach with sand rather than rocks and pebbles and then, a few km out the rain began, finding the bus stop and a prompt approaching bus which decided to pass us by rather than stop and the rain got heavier, the next bus stopping just as a state of deluge was reached... the rabbit hole finding layers of concrete in taipei...
