After the storm

It was really windy last night - the windiest we have know it in our current house of over 25years. We laid in bed listening to the fence banging and tiles lifting! This morning we were hesitant opening the curtains but fortunately the damages was not too bad. A fence panel completely destriyed and an extraction fan cover from the side of the house was in the back garden in pieces. But strangely enough I'd forgotten to bring in my garden chairs and they were still sat upright on the patio!
Later this morning I was at a meeting for an outdoor nativity play which is taking place close to the beach next weekend and it was interesting to walk on the beach afterwards and see how the sand had been blown by the wind. It was still very cold and some very thermal underwear will be needed next week I think!!
