Blue stone (lias?)

We are a little concerned at the vulnerability of this bank, where our garden meets a lane: erosion by rain or vehicles could make it more difficult to plant the hedging that we plan.

So I put out a request for kerbstones on the local FB group, and a kind lady offered me the choice of any stones I wanted from a pile left in a field by her late husband.  These are blue stones (blue lias?) which are really quite attractive, despite their irregular shape and size.  They should do the trick, but I'll need to go back to the lady and ask for some more in a few days' time.

This little trolley, by the way, is extremely useful.  It replaced the wheelbarrow that we left at our old house and it's ideal for moving stuff around with minimum effort.
