Man the pumps!

We seemed to have missed the storm that hit the rest of the country but it has been turning worse today with some heavy rain and high winds.  We went over to the craft fair at Creake Abbey this morning and largely avoided the rain.  The fair was much smaller than the one at Sandringham last week but so much better; while there was some rubbish on sale there were lots of genuine craft stalls with some good things to offer.  We didn’t end up buying anything though.

In the courtyard where the market was held I spotted this old petrol pump.   The price was left at 7/5d per gallon; I reckon that is 37p in new money which equates to £0.08 per litre.  As the current price of a litre is around the £1.50 mark it’s a shame I couldn’t have filled up!
