Curzon Ashton 2 Chester FC 1

Chester got knocked out of the FA Trophy at the first stage with the winning goal coming a couple of minutes from the end. Not the result Danny Livesey, the caretaker manager, would have wanted but it was a much more positive, organised performance and I thought they were very unlucky. At least it wasn't far to drive home.

On lighter note I spotted the referee go over to talk to a steward midway through the first half. It turns out that there was an announcement over the tannoy asking for a car to be moved as it was blocking someone in. It turned out to belong to the referee.

It was bitterly cold stood on the terrace with snow on the surrounding hills. Before the game Rick and I managed some geocaching in Stockport and a visit to the Stalybridge Buffet Bar on Stalybridge station which is another favourite of ours.
