Unimpressed

Was it the dusting of snow? The selection of seeds? The 20F temperature? Why did this sweet, usually happy-go-lucky tufted titmouse have this face on this morning? • Perhaps it’s the post-Thanksgiving blues, or the holiday blues in general? It’s real for many people for a variety of reasons. I try to be mindful of what others are experiencing, especially this time of year. There’s so much marketing and cultural pressure as to what the Big 3 Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s should be, feel and look like. It’s hard separating fantasy from reality at times while most of us try to create, honor or maintain the traditions that mean the most to us. I’ve always tried to tune out as much “stuff” as possible because it works for me, but it’s near impossible to do with the over saturation of images, soundbites and sounds we’re all bombarded with • However you celebrate I hope you’re able to focus on joy because if it doesn’t feel right, you shouldn’t do it! • As my friend, Bob J, used to always say when departing “Peace & Love”!
