Riverdance

(27/11/21)
I was so excited about blipping today, I hope my happiness about this day still comes out four days later!

So, it was a typical Tuesday with a very early start. G finished at 10:20, and we came straight home, tired after all the excitement of yesterday. There was plenty of time to relax, recuperate, get on with work before I suggested we visit EXPO2020 tonight. There are several reasons to go today, the biggest being because Life Group (Zoom Bible Study) got cancelled. I hadn't realised that the Riverdance show has been playing at Jubilee Park since 3rd November, and all you need to experience it is your entry ticket to EXPO! Well, we both have season passes, so what are we waiting for??

This time, we left earlier as we drove further out to get on the Metro. Al Furjan to be precise. Parking was free, and we were on the train in no time. I ran ahead and jumped into one, and G got left behind, so we met up at the next station. We got to the EXPO site just as the light faded, so sadly, it's all night shots. We managed to visit a few more country pavilions (Poland, Jordan, Nepal, Tanzania and Austria).

Tonight's visit was mainly about Riverdance though, and we got to the venue just in time to get a seat on a picnic table. The beanbags were all taken, and the only other alternatives were on the grass or with a restricted view on amphitheatre style seats. I have wanted to see Riverdance for years, so to be able to experience it in my home city for FREE was a big deal!

The show was excellent. Nothing was compromised. The band was there with the whole troop. I have no idea how the dancers managed to do all that high energy dancing in the heat. (It was 29degC) when we got home at midnight). G was glad we made the effort. Dinner was a freshly made pizza before we finally left the site. It was big, but so well made, we ate it all and didn't feel full!

PS I need to come back and post a collage of the rest of the evening!
