Take off run.

There seems to be quite some strife among the swan community on Linlithgow Loch. Perhaps its to do with the time of year - pairing up, breeding, all that sort of thing. Anyway, after several tail pecks, this one decided that anywhere else was a better place to be. It was quite amusing as the ice was not quite thick enough to support the weight and kept breaking under the frantically running/paddling feet. After several yards as an icebreaker, the bird finally achieved the correct velocity and became airborne. Well done Mr/s Swan!
