Norland Moor
SATURDAY
I think we escaped the worst of Storm Arwen, but the odd tree had come down overnight (see the extra of the tree blocking the Cat Lane bridleway) and I woke this morning to the sound of the snowplough coming down the lane.
I went for a 7.5 km walk up to and over Norland Moor - it was a winter wilderness and difficult underfoot due to snow, mud and water. The wind was biting but I was quite snug and my 30 year old walking boots managed to keep my feet dry.
It's bitterly cold this evening and the power was off between 19:00 and 21:30 so there was no electric lighting or central heating in the house.
