WedFest

After a substantial breakfast Mr H and I went on a short exploration of the neighbourhood. First the amazingly black-and-white-timbered village of Pembridge (the "New Inn" dating from the 14th century!) and then a nearby Owl centre where they were definitely not what they seem. Then it was back to the inn to get changed into the glad rags (which remained hidden under layers of coats for most of the day due to the temperature, or lack of). There was a shuttle mini-bus organised out to Titley where the majority of the celebrations took place, but we were also shuttled to Presteigne for the actual ceremony which took place in the Judge's Lodgings. A fascinating place - we were able to have a wander about it while we were waiting for the bride and groom to arrive. No electricity in the place, so lit only by paraffin lamps and candles. Afterwards we were taken back to Titley for champagne at the house and then a procession with music and banners down to the village hall for a meal and then a ceilidh. It was a splendid wedding for Ian and Gina and a miracle of organisation by them and John and Doe. There was even a mini blip-meet. :-) Thanks to one and all!

I found that I had taken many photos, some of intriguing black-and-white houses, some of very photogenic owls and some of various old friends and wedding shenanigans, but my favourite was of these fiddles lined up on a table in the Judge's Lodgings ahead of the ceremony.
