De Dijk in concert

Here we are again, at a concert of De Dijk. In Groningen this time, the Oosterpoort-theatre.
With all the new corona rules that were announced yesterday, coming into effect tomorrow, this concert is the final one. The rest is all cancelled.

Annemarie and I were already in doubt whether we should go or not, because of all the recent events here, and on top of that the corona-situation..... we talked about it a lot lately.
But in the end, we both need to get our minds on other things, so we decided to give it a go after all. Our aim was to get a seat on the balcony, front row.

We arrived at the Oosterpoort around 19.15 and I parked in the garage next to it. Our corona apps were scanned and we then went upstairs to the balcony. No people there in the hall. None! I opened the door and saw an almost complete empty balcony. Wow, just liked we hoped! The support act had already started. We took  our seats, away from everybody.

At 20.00 pm sharp De Dijk came on and gave their best, as usual.
The atmosphere was different than usual, because everybody was seated and the hall was only filled half. The other half already attended the concert in the afternoon. But Huub (the lead singer) knew exactly how to handle this and promised everybody a special evening.
And special it was. It was great, and Annemarie and I were very happy we went. I wouldn't have liked to have missed it.

Our way out was just like our way in, we hardly saw any people.
Overall, I would have been closer to a lot more people when I'd went to the supermarket instead of this concert.


On October 1st we were at the concert in Amsterdam, the very first concert after the pandemic and today in our hometown Groningen (like we've been doing for the past 22 years), at the final one before the new lockdown. The pandemic continues...unfortunately.
