A Golden and Cheesy Pizza Moment
I am a pizza girl from way back when. Who knew that the skills I learned in working at a pizza shop at Knoebel's in the summer of 1984 would be put to life-long benefit?
It was Saturday and I made us a pizza late in the afternoon. It has all the usual stuff: a crust, pizza sauce, cheeses, green peppers, and pepperoni.
But I started with a block of mozzarella this time, instead of a bag of shredded cheese, and it was SO MUCH BETTER. Shredding it myself only took a few minutes. It browned beautifully and tasted much better!
As a friend mentioned to me, shredded cheese has something in it to prevent it from clumping. So by shredding it myself, I skipped that stuff. Who knew it would be better this way, but I like it!
Mangia!
Here is our song for this golden pizza moment: James Taylor, with Golden Moments.
