Star performance!
Well not really the day we expected but all weekend we have had star performances’ from Jude of her new ability to take steps. She has increased the number steadily and here she is walking right across the room from mummy to daddy and back with something in each hand - such a show off - I call it a ‘star performance’ as she obviously thinks it is as when she stops she looks for appropriate approval, usually a round of applause. When I took these shots daddy was videoing them
We headed to Leeds this morning to see Grace’s friend who had a stall seeking home made and vintage items. It was bitingly cold when we got out of the car but luckily the stall was inside at an event centre called Archive. She shared the stall with a friend from her uni course who Grace also knows. Nice to meet her, I’ve already seen her work on sale in Saltaire.
Whilst enjoying a coffee and pastry in the cafe there someone spotted it was snowing. It had probably actually turned slightly warmer. The snow became quite heavy so instead of going for lunch as we had planned and then me returning by train we decided to return home and see how things panned out. It seemed better to get stranded at home than in Leeds!
Made it back but it was quite iffy in places with lots of snow on the roads at home. Rustled up some lunch for them and then at 3.00 pm they decided to head home as the sky had brightened and the snow had stopped.
Think we might have had enough excitement for one weekend but so glad they came in particular being able to share Jude’s very special first steps.
Think winter and the season of Advent is now well and truly launched.
