Power cut ... day 1

Storm Arwen rattling round the house, wind whistling around the rafters, hail pounding the window with a bit of snow and sleet thrown in. At 9.45pm we were plunged into darkness. Massive power outage across North East Wales. Lots of trees down and took the cables with them. Conditions so bad they were unable to effect repairs. No electricity means no house phone, no WiFi, Internet and the mobile phone signal was sketchy to say the least. No heating, no lights, no shower, no hot water. But ... we do have a big log burner. A camping gas stove and numerous candles and oil lamps.
