Snow at the Christmas Market
Today's event was the Christmas Market at Hall Croft, a follow up to the summer event. Finkins hosted this one. Not so many people but still well attended. Both Finkins and Meet n Eat were open. Several craft stalls plus the cheese lady. This time, the Pied Bull was doing the honours with the bar, the mulled wine and the egg nog.
There was music with the Barrow on Soar ukelele band (extra), then Poppy as soloist. Lots of dogs.
The mayor of Charnwood Borough Council was there (I assume it was he) wearing his chain of office. Several little crafty stalls which I patronised. After all, they'd made an effort to be there and had produced lots of thing with Christmas theme. It seems the Shepshed Lions were also sponsoring the market and had provided a Santa with his helper, a sleigh pulled by a reindeer that periodically pushed out 'snow.'
But towards 2 pm it actually started to snow, and quite thickly too. I don't know how many people stayed for the carols. I'm afraid we didn't. Len isn't into that kind of thing and generally being convivial. He complained of being cold. I, on the other hand, had made sure to wrap up really warm.
