Swimming and snowing
There are two things I don't really like about swimming. One is how boring it is, just trucking up and down the pool, and the second is the whole faff with changing rooms and lockers. This could make motivation an issue.
Fortunately, I only have one opportunity a week to swim at the moment, so there can be no procrastination: at twelve-fifteen I pick up my swimming bag and walk through the university campus to the pool.
There was a further challenge today, though, and that arose from the chunky flakes of snow filling the air and settling on the ground. It really didn't generate any enthusiasm for stripping down to a pair of trunks and jumping into a pool of water.
Still, I did it.
(You might reasonably ask why I bother swimming if I find it so unappealling, and I have two answers for you. The slightly pious one is that it's great exercise, but the real answer is that I always feel fantastic afterwards.)
