2021 Saturday — Headed North
We rolled out of our driveway at 6:31 this morning. California’s Central Coast was our destination. We have been in SoCal for exactly 2 weeks. We’ve celebrated my birthday and Thanksgiving. We’ve gift-wrapped 100 books for our four great-grandchildren (a book a day for 25 days for each child till Christmas). We’ve delivered all those books (75 of them to the three in San Diego). We have gotten to enjoy a meal with several friends and spent some quality moments with our neighbors.
But our desire to be near the ocean is growing like an addiction. So we gathered up the two pups, Chloe‘s blanket, and the things that we can’t live without — so we always bring those things with us, like my favorite pair of Levi’s; pretty soon our car looks swollen because we have so much stuff we can’t live without but we haven’t used it or worn it the entire two weeks. Crazy.
Traffic was non-existent. We zipped thru Los Angeles in record time and the rest of the trip was equally pleasant. The first sight of the ocean gave us goosebumps. If Mr. Fun would have stopped the car, I would have jumped out, ran around it twice, and done a happy dance. If you think we like the ocean, you are right.
So for the next undecided amount of days, we’ll be . . . wait for it . . . at the ocean.
Rosie (& Mr. Fun) aka Carol
and Chloe & Mitzi too!
