The morning after

What a superb night we had last night!  The room was lovely, the service impeccable, the food was sublime, the wine was exquisite and the bill…..well, let’s not mention the bill.  After breakfast we had a walk around the gardens.  A lot of the food served in the restaurant is grown in the gardens including around 27 different varieties of mushrooms.  There are many sculptures, both wicker and bronze, and this was one of my favourites.  Others I liked are in extras; a rather quirky bird in a tree, and a very serene lady reading her book which comes into view at the end of a long pathway. After we left we called at the nearby Waterperry Gardens although just to look in the shop, and then home via a quick stop in MK to use my free coffee and cake voucher in John Lewis!
