The Easy Option
I've not been very lively today. Shortly after I got up, I began to think that I didn't feel quite right, and remembering that we were expecting the chimney sweep this afternoon, I thought I'd better do a lateral flow test. That was negative, and I think I'm probably getting a cold. Not ideal, when I was hoping to go to a singing workshop where there would be real, live people to sing with on Saturday. I'm wondering about the wisdom of that anyway, given the current situation ...
The chimney got swept, and that's about the only thing that did happen. I wrapped more presents, did some stitching, and retired to the sofa with my knitting when darkness fell.
It's nearly always an admission of defeat, or extreme laziness when all I can manage for a blip is what ever is in my lap. This is a top down sweater using some yarn that I spun (span? spinned?) last winter. I started with some nice fine merino, dyed it in a wild variety of colours, then blended them together before spinning them. If you look closely you can see little nubs of orange, green, magenta in it. You can also see how uneven the spinning is. Well, it was the first I'd done in a long time - and at least I made enough to knit a garment. Finished is better than perfect is my mantra.
It's rare to look at photos when the subject is right there in your lap. I noticed that the colours on screen weren't particularly accurate. I fiddled for ages and couldn't get the right background colour, which I'd call a warm greyed purple. However ... once I'd given up, and uploaded it to Blip, it changed again, and now isn't a bad approximation.
Sorry for boring on ... hopefully I'll get out tomorrow.
