Start of the former Cromford Canal
In Langley Mill, Derbyshire the Cromford Canal ran for 14.5 miles from this point - the end of the Erewash Canal - to Cromford, where Richard Arkwright had his textile mill Most of it has been lost but at the other end there's a stretch of about 5 miles which is still intact and in the summer, visitors can ride a canal barge for a short distance
