went for a hearing test for work. felt ratty about the whole thing. grumped at the woman at reception for having her radio on. grumped at the nurse for not being an audiologist. then realised i was being horrible so stopped.
the test was done in a claustrophobic box a bit like the one they used to use on 'mr and mrs' (ancient tv programme where couples were tested on how well they know each other..). you put headphones on, they play beeps, you press the button when you can hear them.
all was going fine until half way through when it all just stopped - no noises coming through the headphones. after a few minutes, i popped my head out and asked if it was all finished. apparently not. whoops. that must be me out of range then...
for some perverse reason, i was gratified that my hearing showed up as bad as i thought it was. the graph for the good, right ear shows a wiggly line between the 0-20 range. the bad left ear shows one bobbing about between 50-60. the bottom of the range is 80. left ear not pulling it's weight.
oh. but much more interesting is that we did a 7 mile skate around glw by night. my teacher chum has plans that one day this will rival paris and london but for now it's just me and him. cool skate though.
