Blend If

Digital group today and we tried another one of Blake Rudis' tutorials on Blend if.  I'm becoming more and more fascinated with the Blend If tool in Photoshop.

5 Ways Blend If in Photoshop Will Blow Your Mind!  I have only used
1.  Noise reduction
2.  Vignette
3.  Texture - wire wool shot
It allows you to e.g. add a vignette but protect the white areas so that they don't turn a dingy grey.
Here you have the before and after images and a copy of the layers used and a shot of the Blend If panel for the vignette layer.  You can see that by pulling the little markers in from the right I'm not allowing the vignette to affect the lightest areas.  In this case you can see the 'stitching' on the gingerbread man is still white even though a vignette has been added.

Sorry if that's too technical for those who don't use Photoshop.  Hope the gingerbread man biscuit container makes you smile!  I still have to make some biscuits to put in him for Christmas!!  Now I'm supposed to be helping wrap and label the presents we already have!!!
