Weeping elm
This lunchtime I walked around campus in the cold. The tree, under which I stood and looked out at the lake, is a weeping elm (according to the University of York Campus Tree Trail ). It was a miserable lunchtime and I was chilled to the bone by the time I got back to my desk, but the tree looks more like black lightning to me, rather than anything to do with crying. The extra is the whole tree, taken a couple of weeks ago when the sun was out, and there were still a few leaves clinging to the branches.
