50p each at A&%A :-)

Being up for a bargain at the best of times (and particularly given changing circumstances at the moment!) I just wanted to show off my knockdown-price butternut squashes :-)

So far...so calm... in the land of changing momentum.

I filled out the necessary online application/assessment form for Jobseekers Allowance on Sun eve and have to say I'm impressed with the speed of service. A follow-up phonecall by 3pm Tuesday and an appointment for next Tuesday morning (now that WILL be a new and interesting experience...). The operator actually wanted to give me an appt on Friday but (luckily) I was able to say that I would be busy pursuing a possible job opportunity... it's not a lie (although maybe a slight stretch of the situation), but equally I didn't want to end up with a fixed 2-weekly appointment on a Friday so my prior engagement worked in my favour. On Friday I'm giving a guest lecture as part of an Undergraduate course at Newcastle Uni, it's something I did for the first time last year and was invited back to do again. Already knowing a few people in the department, it's a good opportunity to renew contacts and enquire about any possible research-staffing requirements. There's an additional lead to follow up on campus too.

As for the rest of today, after a lazy morning I prepared a biblestudy then headed into town to deliver it... went OK, a bit ropey and unconfident in the 1st section but better from there.
