A hen pheasant returns to forage in the garden

By the time I'd found my camera this hen pheasant had spotted me and went into retreat fleeing down the garden. When it reached the old ivy shrouded sycamore tree it hesitated long enough for me to grab this image at the full extent of my equipment, even with the extender.

I suspect that it knew that there was an extremely steep drop on the far side of the wire, but off it went down into the undergrowth.
