Project 365 day 336: Bark Abstract

I'm blipping trees this week for National Tree Week in the UK, so today's abstract had to be another detail of the many textures and shapes I can find in bark around the garden and orchard. This is from the tree in the extra: I've always assumed it to be a silver birch, as the bark suggests, but the rather stocky shape is not typical of silver birch, and I'm not sure if the large burrs are either. I should do some research. I seem to say this a lot.
